Your use of the platform is subject to Orlit's Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. By using the platform, you consent to the collection, use, storage, disclosure, and processing of your personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Orlit processes personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and any other
applicable data protection laws.
Where you collect, store, or process personal data through your store, you are solely responsible for
ensuring that your activities comply with all applicable privacy, data protection, consumer protection, and
electronic communications laws.
You are responsible for obtaining all necessary consents and permissions before collecting or processing
personal data; providing a clear and legally compliant privacy notice to your customers; responding to
requests relating to personal data; implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures to
safeguard personal data under your control; and complying with all applicable legal obligations relating to
privacy and data protection.
Orlit is not responsible for your failure to comply with these obligations.
Orlit will implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect
personal data processed through the platform against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or
destruction.
While Orlit takes reasonable steps to safeguard personal data, no system, network, or method of electronic
transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, Orlit does not guarantee
absolute security.
Where Orlit processes personal data solely on your behalf in providing the platform, Orlit acts as a data
processor or service provider to the extent required under applicable law. You remain the data controller
and are responsible for determining the lawful basis for collecting and processing personal data through
your store.
Nothing in these terms transfers your legal responsibilities as a data controller to Orlit.
Orlit may retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the platform, comply with
legal or regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, enforce these terms, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain
backups, or protect the security and integrity of the platform.
When personal data is no longer required, Orlit will securely delete or anonymize it in accordance with
applicable law and its internal data retention policies.
Where personal data is transferred outside Nigeria, Orlit will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer complies with applicable data protection laws and that appropriate safeguards are implemented where required.
